This Friday (2/25) Cesc Tijuca will open the ACT (Art, Science, and Technology) space. It is an environment of experimentation, observation and learning equipped with digital tools to develop projects, from concept to prototype, and is an excellent opportunity to encourage youth and children from Rio to admire the subject.
On-site are computers, a projector, a laser cutter, milling machine, 3D printers, a painter, a studio for producing and editing videos, podcasts, and photos, as well as an interactive presentation room. The space also includes a children’s play area and a vertical garden for rest, that is, the whole family can enjoy and delight the little ones.
“The ACT space in Sesc Tijuca is a place where the public can share knowledge and put their projects and ideas into practice, with access to traditional and digital manufacturing tools. Our goal is to enable the creation of solutions and products based on the open design and do-it-yourself (DIY) concept, where work is deepened Collaborative and relationships created,” explains Reagan Nobrega, Education Coordinator at Sesc RJ.

Espaço ACT’s general business runs Tuesday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There is no minimum age to remain on site, but minors must be accompanied by their parents to use the equipment, or have their permission to do so. The screens will help and guide users on security protocols.
