Music with George Harrison and Ringo Starr was found in an attic in the UK

An unprecedented song with the Beatles George Harrison and Ringo Starr was revealed at the Beatles Museum in Liverpool on Wednesday (10), after being found in an attic last year.

Written and produced by journalist and broadcaster Suresh Joshi, “Radhe Shaam” was recorded at London’s Trident Studios in 1968, sung by Indian musician Ashish Khan, Harrison on guitar, and Starr on drums.

“No one believed it was that much,” Joshi told Reuters after playing the recording in front of an audience at the Beatles’ hometown museum.

“It was a very wonderful and comforting moment while I was throwing it in my humble way.”

Joshi said he was recording the song with Khan for “East Meets West” at Trident Studios when Harrison walked in and they started talking. The Beatles were recording “Hey Jude” at the time.

Harrison and Starr later volunteered to play on their own track.

Joshi found the recording last year, stored among other belongings in his attic, after a friend, who had visited him while in confinement, sparked interest in his stories from the past. Then he worked with a producer to restore the tape.

“We saved it, put it together, and it took us nearly a month to get it back to its originality… and we digitized it,” Joshi said, adding that the song will be released as the proceeds go to charity.

In a press release, Joshi described the 53-year-old’s music as relevant today.

“The music itself is about the concept that we are all one, that the world is our oyster — something we have all realized during this pandemic,” he said.
