A 57-year-old swimmer died last Saturday (06) while diving on the beach at North Fremantlhe, in Perth, Australia. His family, who were on the sand, saw the sight of the man being attacked by a great white shark.

Paul Melakib was swimming in the morning when the giant animal suddenly pulled him up. He was an amateur athlete and in good physical shape. In addition, Millachip has already participated in several triathlon competitions and used to swim in this area.

“My husband died doing what he loves, which is to enjoy surfing, swimming and keeping fit,” the victim’s wife told The Sun.

In addition, a group of teenagers who were on the sand said they saw the shark in the water and warned other swimmers and surfers not to get out of the sea.

One teenager said, “I didn’t see exactly what kind of shark it was, but it was huge. From fin to tail it was a very long way.”

After the reports, experts explained that there is a large shark in the vicinity of the “most famous beaches” in Australia. Furthermore, they warned of an increase in attacks. In the 1990s, 82 shark attacks were recorded in Australia. In the 2000s, there were 161.

Paul Melakipe’s body has disappeared into the sea and only his swimming goggles have been found. The searches ended in the late afternoon of Sunday (7).
