Teacher Spain He was suspended from teaching after giving ten grades to “nearly all of his students,” according to local newspaper reports.
Ivan Pozuelo, 47, has been studying French for more than a decade at an institution in Gijón, in the north of the country, and advocated his own method of assessment.
In interviews with Spanish newspapers, and in a book he published himself last year, he said that any development in his students, no matter how small, should be celebrated.
After the fallout from the case, the Asturias Education Secretariat – where the city of Gijón is located – has opened an investigation against Pozuelo.
More than 2,500 pages were written against the teacher and a recommendation stating that the teacher was absent for 8 months and without pay was sent to the school.
The professor claims that the honest response is “persecution”. He stated that the public administration asked him to undo the method and not allow it, which he opposed.
“[Ao dar os 10] “There is a complete drive to learn,” Pozuelo told El Comercio newspaper before the suspension.
In Digital El Español, the teacher explained his method best: “I will not punish mistakes. I will add up to the strikes.”
“If there is no progress in two years, but I see an improvement of one millimeter, one millimeter equals ten,” he said.
