A thousand hours of programming in the first science festival, starting from the twelfth day – Al-Hayat

The first edition of the festival, FIC.A, brings together professionals from various fields of science, music, film and exhibitions, as well as gastronomic experiences, bringing together more than 100 participants and more than 20 countries represented, according to the organization.

With free admission (book tickets at www.fica.pt), the organization says in a statement that it expects about 40,000 visitors, including 20,000 students, for the various initiatives that will take place between the halls, cinema, literary space, exhibitions, sports and gastronomy.

Names like Timothy Caulfield, Canadian producer, American ecologist Thomas Lovejoy, or Barry Fitzgerald, an Irishman dedicated to exploring the science behind superheroes are some of the must-haves for FIC.A, the outreach reported.

Editors and authors such as British neuroscientist Jack Lewis, German journalist Jürgen Kaupp or American biologist Sean B. Carroll also attended. According to the organizers, many other initiatives range from cinema to circus arts and interactive exhibitions, among which there is a “visit”, for example, the deep sea.

The statement added that in addition to sponsoring the Presidency of the Republic, seven ministries will be directly or indirectly represented.
