WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook are gradually back to work

After more than 5 hours worldwide, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook start working for some users, but still show sluggish.

As early as the afternoon of Monday, 4, users began reporting that they could not access social networks through smartphone apps or websites, even with their Internet connections working perfectly.

Mike Schroepfer, the company’s chief technology officer, took to Twitter to apologize for the inconvenience.

“My sincere apologies to all those affected by the Facebook outage at this time,” he wrote. “We are experiencing network issues and teams are working as quickly as possible to correct and restore errors as quickly as possible.”

Other social networks

After the social networks controlled by Mark Zuckerberg, others have experienced instability, which may have been due to the influx of users.

Telegram has stopped working. The services of Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google — GMail, YouTube and Google Drive — showed instability.

Five US mobile operators have either been disabled or had difficulty operating services.

The downfall of WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook may be due to a failure of the Domain Name System (DNS – Domain Name System, in Portuguese), according to an expert from the same FacebookInc group.

So far, the official reason has not been disclosed by the company.
