From the longest-eared dog to the world’s tallest teenager, the Guinness Book of Records reveals its new records in the 2022 edition of the popular book.

The annual publication, released Thursday (16), features a string of records and achievements, including the fastest two-handed walk and most hair-rope jumps in 30 seconds.

Britain’s Bethany Lodge, a gymnast since she was young, held the titles for the fastest forward sprints for 100 meters – in 42.64 seconds – and most backward somersaults for women in 30 seconds – 5.

“It’s an incredible feeling to earn a Guinness title. It’s something I never thought to do. I always got books when I was little and I would read them and see all the wonderful things people can do,” said Lodge.

“So it’s surreal to know I have a record and to see that in the book,” he added.

American Zion Clark, born without legs, set the record for the fastest 20-meter walk with two hands, achieving this feat in 4.78 seconds.

Laetitia Key, from Côte d’Ivoire, set the record for the most jumps on a rope made of her hair in 30 seconds – 60. The 25-year-old model, actress and artist is famous for making sculptures from her hair.

“For this new record, Leticia braided her natural hair and then added extensions to form the ‘rope’ that she will use for jumping,” Guinness said in a statement. “She tried to break this record to inspire others to celebrate her talents.”

The title of the tallest living teenager (male) went to American Olivier Rio, whose height is 2,269 meters.

Among the animals, some interesting records were those of Canine Lou, whose American owner Paige Olsen, who held the record for the longest ears of a (live) dog. Its ears are 34 cm long.

In addition, the dog and cat duo, Lollipop and Sashimi, from Canada, set the record for the fastest dog and cat in 5 meters on a motorcycle, with a time of 4.37 seconds.
